Abstract

يقوم قطاع المكتبات والمعلومات أساسًا على المعلومات والمعرفة، فأي تغير أو تحول يمس هذه الأخيرة لا بد أن يشمل بدوره المهنة المكتبية بمؤسساتها والعاملين فيها، وما تحوُّل العالم اليوم إلى “عالم البيانات” القائم على “البيانات الضخمة” إلاّ أحد التحولات التي تُحدث تأثيرات أخرى جديدة ومستحدثة على وظائف ومهام أخصائيي المعلومات التي يظهر تأثيرها عليهم بداية باستحداث تسمية جديدة لهم وهي “عالِم البيانات” بعدما كان يلقب بأخصائي المعلومات وأخصائي المعرفة، فما يا ترى باقي التغييرات والتأثيرات التي تحملها البيانات الضخمة لأخصائي المعلومات؟

تأسيسًا لما سبق، تأتي هذه الدراسة للكشف والتعرف على أهم انعكاسات “البيانات الضخمة” على المهنة المكتبية عامة، وجوانب تأثيراتها بوجه محدد على المتخصصين من حيث الأدوار، والوظائف، و المهارات، والكفاءات التي يجب على هؤلاء امتلاكها للتمكن من إدارة تداعيات هذا التحول الجديد والتعامل بكفاءة معها.

The library and information sector is primarily based on dealing with information and knowledge. Any changes or transformations to this encompass the profession and the role of professionals. The world today, transformed into a “data world,” uses “Big Data” innovative strategies. Thus, the way librarians perform their daily job has been transformed and the title of an information specialist has been changed to an information analyses or data scientist. One wonders what other effects the Big Data would bring to the library specialist role in the future?

The aim of this study is to reveal and identify the most important implications of the “Big data” on the profession, especially the aspects that affects professionals role and the competencies they must have in order to cope with the repercussions of this transformation.
