Abstract
Prof. Tariq Ramadan discusses the meaning of Justice in Islam. He stresses the fact that “justice is a condition of peace because the highest principle is to enter into God's peace, with all your heart and all your being. No justice no peace.” Justice is thus strongly connected with the concepts of khilafa and jihad which should not be reduced to their political dimension. “Jihad is a twofold concept: it involves both resisting the bad and reforming it in view of the good. It is not the way towards war it is the way towards peace because we are trying to reach justice which is peace.”
