Dr. Rima J. Isaifan

Head of Academic and Journals Publishing

Dr. Rima J. Isaifan has received her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Ottawa in Canada in 2014. She has joined Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press as the Head of Journals and Academic Publishing in 2019. She has  more than 40 peer-reviewed published articles. She is experienced in heterogeneous catalysis with nanomaterials for air pollution control. Her current research focuses on the characterization of air pollutants, their source apportionment and the estimation of health impact and burden of disease for long and short term exposure to air pollution. She holds several certificates in Climate Change policy, finance, mitigation and planning from The United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and The United Nations Habitat for a Better Urban Future. She has recently received her professional certificate from Harvard University in The Health Effects of Climate Change. In addition to her main role as the head of academic publishing, she is at a joint faculty appointment with The College of Science & Engineering at HBKU, an Associate Professor of Academic Writing at Cambridge Corporate University/Switzerland, and is a member of the Environmental Health Task Force at the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar.

Dalia Heiba

Dalia Heiba holds a Master’s degree in Publishing from Oxford Brooks University, England, and has 19 years’ experience in Academic Publishing. Before joining HBKU Press, she worked for Oxford University Press, UK, for 15 years. She manages four peer-reviewed journals and takes pride in supporting the scholarly community (authors and societies) in Qatar and the Middle East to disseminate their ideas and research results or set up peer reviewed journals according to the latest publishing international standards.
