Abstract

This paper presents environmental benefits from green buildings based on a case study from the RasGas Headquarters building which is a LEED certified building under the Commercial Interiors Category. A comparison was made between utility costs of a typical commercial office building in Doha and the RasGas Headquarters building. The comparison shows substantial savings in utility costs for the green building. The authors encourage building owners and design consultants to be aware of the environmental and economic benefits from Green Buildings and include green features in the design of buildings. The authors believe that a good design is in fact a green design.
