Professor Hassan A. Alsereihy

Hassan A. Alsereihy is a Professor of Library and Information Science at King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. He received his PhD in LIS from Indiana University, USA, in 1993. He has received several awards, including the 2013 LIS Arab Pioneers, and Excellence in Research and Teaching from the Saudi Library Association. He is a member of national and international boards and committees. He focuses on information and knowledge-related research, especially on new trends in the field. He has published over 50 scientific papers and 12 books and supervised over 30 PhD dissertations.

Professor Emad E. Saleh
Emad Saleh is a Professor of Library and Information Science at Helwan University, Egypt. He received his PhD in Information Science from the University of Helwan, Egypt, in 2005. His research focuses on digital libraries, cultural heritage digitization and related technologies, and knowledge management systems. He served as vice president of the Arab Federation for Libraries & Information, and formerly worked as director of the Egyptian National Library (Dar Elkotob). He was previously appointed as a Digital Library Expert for the FAO Regional Office for Near East and North Africa and the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO). He is Editor-in-Chief of AFLI Journal and has published more than 50 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals and conference books, alongside conducting several seminars, and workshops. He won a number of awards including the Naseej Academy Library and Information Pioneers Award (Academic Excellence) in 2023; the 23rd edition of the Sharjah Prize for Library Literature, Sharjah Libraries under the Sharjah Book Authority in 2023; and the prize of King Abdulaziz University for excellence in scientific research, 2014.

Dr. Faten F. Hamad
Faten Hamad is an Associate Professor of Information Studies at both Sultan Qaboos University, Oman, and the University of Jordan, Jordan. She obtained her PhD in from Aberystwyth University, UK, in 2013.  She specialises in computer science and information science. She has published over 50 scientific papers in international journals and book chapters.

Professor Faten Saeed Bameflih
Faten Saeed Bameflih is a Professor of Information Science. She lectured at King Adul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia, before retiring in 2024. She received her PhD in Library and Information Science from Cairo University, Egypt, in 1998. Her research interests include information retrieval systems, information services, digital libraries, and knowledge management. Previously she was the Deputy Dean of the Library Affairs Department and Head of the Female Students Department of Information Science at Umm Al-Qura University, Saudi Arabia. She has published over 40 papers in international journals, conference books, seminars, and workshops. She received awards for scientific research from the Saudi Library Association and the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information. She also received Best Research Paper Award at the 4th conference of the Special Library Association— Arabian Gulf Branch.  

Professor Karim Boughida
Karim Boughida is the Dean of Stony Brook University Libraries from 2022. Previously, Dr. Bohghida served as dean of University Libraries at the University of Rhode Island, USA. Previous roles include associate university librarian for digital initiatives and technical services at George Washington University and senior information systems architect at Getty Research Institute Library. He serves on several boards including the board of directors for the Boston Library Consortium; the board of NISO (National Information Standards Organization), for which he was elected vice chair; and editorial boards for the International Journal on Digital Libraries and the Journal of the Special Libraries Association Arabian – Gulf Chapter.

Professor Mohammed Aman
Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. He held the position of Interim Dean of the UWM School of Education & Vice Chancellor for Partnership (2000-2002). Dr. Naifa Bait Bin Saleem
Naifa Bait Bin Saleem is an Associate Professor at the Information Studies Department, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. She obtained her master’s degree from Sheffield University, UK, in 2000 and her PhD from Exeter University, UK, in 2006. Her areas of interest are in library sciences, information technology, and research methodology. She is a member of Oman Association for Libraries and Information and the Arab Federation for Libraries and Information. She has published more than 40 scientific papers in international journals and book chapters. 

Dr. Suha A. Alawadhi
Suha AlAwadh is an Associate Professor of Information Studies at College of Social Sciences, Kuwait University, Kuwait. She is currently acting as the Head of the Information Studies Department. She received her PhD in from Loughborough University, UK, in 2007. She was appointed as an affiliate assistant professor from 2012 to 2019 and an affiliate associate professor from 2020 to 2023 at the Information School, University of Washington, Seattle, USA. Her research interests are in e-government, technology acceptance, usability and evaluation of information systems, social media, social inclusion, and knowledge sharing. Dr. AlAwadhi has published articles on a variety of professional topics in regional and international journals and delivered international conference presentations, posters, and workshops.
