Al Biruni was a versatile scholar and scientist who had equal facility in physics, metaphysics, mathemat-ics, geography and history. Born in the city of Kheva near “Ural” Turkey in 973 AD, he was a con-temporary of the well-known phy-sician Ibn Sina. He died in 1048 AD at the age of 75, after having spent 40 years in thus gathering knowledge and making his own original contributions to it. %U https://www.qscience.com/content/journals/10.5339/qmj.2004.1.4
