When employees share their knowledge, they allow the delivery and dissemination of experiences, new ideas, and best practices, which contribute to developing competences and inducing creativity and innovation within organizations. The aim of this research study was to explore the methods by which employees’ knowledge sharing intentions are improved and enhanced both at the individual and organizational level in a Saudi university. The factors of the theory of reasoned action and the social exchange theory were used to investigate their impact on knowledge sharing. This quantitative study used an electronically developed questionnaire that was delivered to 365 employees. Our findings reveal that when employees consider knowledge sharing, they balance costs and benefits in a way to minimize costs and maximize benefits. In addition, attitude towards knowledge sharing was found to have a significant influence on knowledge sharing intentions. %U https://www.qscience.com/content/journals/10.5339/jist.2022.5
